Lagos Government Shuts 24 Religious Buildings Over Noise Pollution

But     we have been able to resolve some and some have relocated. We have shut about     24 religious outfits in the last one year because they failed to adhere to the     state guidelines on noise pollution." he said.</BLOCKQUOTE></DIV>

Every country has laws and code of conduct   that every citizen should abide and observe, The law is supreme no matter the   situation but at the same time people think some laws are extreme because before   the law of the land there exist the law of nature that gives us the right to   live.<A name=more></A></DIV>  <BLOCKQUOTE>    <DIV dir=ltr>Now taking off the cloak of sentiments <SPAN>clouding</SPAN> our     minds and preventing us from facing realities and using Nigeria as a     <SPAN>case study</SPAN>, we have made a bad name in relation to drug     trafficking in my opinion even at this moment "somewhere in Nigeria Chukwudi     is planning to travel to go and make it". How is that you know the law of the     country yet you take the risk and proceed to go against it? The law of the     land is placed to guide us and also protect us. It was learnt that the deceased, only known by a nickname, Big Daddy, had   slept overnight inside the bus, only to be found dead on Wednesday. Our   correspondent learnt that the driver, who hailed from Odogbolu, Ogun State,   lived in the Ikorodu area of Lagos with his family.</DIV><A   href="https://www.blogger.com/null" name=more></A><BR>  <DIV>It was gathered that the matter was reported to the Ojodu Abiodun Police   Division which later sent <A name=more></A>officers to remove the corpse. When   Punch Metro got to the park, a member of the executive of the National Union of   Road Transport Workers, who declined to be named, said the driver might have   been killed by depression resulting from a debt burden. He said, "It is not the   first time that commercial drivers would sleep overnight in their buses in this   park, especially those who come from distant places like Ikorodu, Lagos Island   and so on. Big Daddy plied daily between the Ojodu Berger and Oshodi   areas.</DIV>  <DIV> </DIV>  <DIV></DIV>  <DIV>"When he finished work at about 10 pm, he complained that he was feeling   very weak. He bought a bag of sachet water and emptied them on his body. It was   just this morning that I was called on the phone that he died inside his bus.   "The only thing I know is that he had a debt on his neck. He was paying back the   money he borrowed to purchase the bus in installments. The bus recently   developed faults. His wife and only son, Sunday, stay in Ikorodu, and have been   informed about his death."</DIV>  <DIV> </DIV>  <DIV></DIV>  <DIV>A driver in the park, who gave his name simply as Babatunde, added that the   radio which the deceased was listening to still blared when he was found dead.   He said, "We switched off the radio. I have never seen such a strange death. His   first wife died about nine months ago, and he recently remarried. He died while   sleeping on the steering. He was wearing only his underwear. He was a gentleman. Here is how CNN   Money reports it below:<BR><BR>    The German automaker announced   it has created the first batch of liquid "e-diesel" at a research facility in   Dresden. The clear fuel is produced through a "power to liquid" process,   masterminded by the German clean tech company and Audi partner   Sunfire.<BR><BR>    The process uses carbon dioxide, the most   common greenhouse gas, which can be captured directly from air. Carbon dioxide   is created largely by burning fossil fuels and contributes to global warming.   Now Sunfire said it can recycle the gas to make a more efficient, carbon-neutral   fuel.<BR>    Unlike conventional fossil fuels, the "e-diesel"   doesn't contain sulphur and other contaminants. "The engine runs quieter and   fewer pollutants are being created," Sunfire's Christian von Olshausen   sai<BR><BR>    The fuel is produced in three steps. First, the   researchers heat up steam to very high temperatures <BR><A name=more></A>to   break it down into hydrogen and oxygen. This process requires temperatures of   over 800 degrees Celsius (1,472 Fahrenheit) and is powered by green energy such   as solar or wind power. Audi said using that's is more efficient than   conventional techniques.<BR>    Second, they mix the hydrogen   with carbon dioxide under pressure and at high temperature to create so-called   blue crude. Lastly, the blue crude is refined into fuels in a similar way fossil   crude oil is refined into gasoline.<BR>    Audi (AUDVF) said its   lab tests have shown the "e-diesel" can be mixed with fossil fuels or used as a   fuel on its own<BR><BR>    The new fuel was tested by German   Education and Research minister Johanna Wanka last week. She put the first five   liters into her official car, and declared the project a   success.<BR>    "If we can make widespread use of CO2 as a raw   material, we will make a crucial contribution to climate protection and the   efficient use of resources, and put the fundamentals of the green economy in   place," she said.<BR>    Sunfire said its plant is set to produce   more than 3,000 litres of the "e-diesel" over the coming months. The company   said it was aiming for a pre-tax price of between 1 and 1.20 euros per liter   ($1.10 to $1.30), compared to the current German pre-tax price of around 0.6   euros per liter of gasoline. <BR><BR>Amazing !!!!!! <BR><BR>The firm concluded   that the NNPC should refund to the government a minimum of $1.48 billion of   missing oil funds, a figure many Nigerians believe is smaller than the likely   actual figure.<BR><BR>The report however gave no strong and independent opinion   of its findings despite saying the investigation was carried out using forensic   techniques.<BR><BR>The firm instead listed a series of potential factors that   could render its findings implausible, saying it had no access to the full   account of some relevant agencies like NPDC, the upstream petroleum industry   subsidiary of the NNPC.<BR><BR>The firm said where it lacked data, it turned to   details of earlier investigations carried out by the Nigerian Senate, which all   but cleared the NNPC, and the petroleum ministry of any wrongdoing.<BR><BR>"We   did not obtain any information directly from NPDC, but in accordance with NPDC   former Managing Director's (Mr Briggs Victor) submission to the Senate Committee   hearing on the subject matter, for the period, NPDC generated $5.11billion (net   of royalties and petroleum profits tax paid)," the firm   said.<BR><BR>PricewaterhouseCoopers also said without an independent legal   opinion, it relied on the legal advice of the Nigerian government's Attorney   General (AG) on the subject of the transfers of various NNPC (55%) portion of   Oil leases (OMLs) involved in the Shell (SPDC) Divestments which impact crude   oil flows in the period.<BR><BR>"The AG's opinion indicated that these transfers   were within the authority of the Minister to make. Thus, these assets were   validly transferred to NPDC.
